Education professional with 2+ years of experience in language teaching, experience as a teacher educator, and Learning, Design, and Technology student and researcher. Currently a PhD student in Learning, Design, and Technology at the University of Georgia and an Instructional designer at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government. Possesses a MeD in Learning, Design, and Technology (University of Georgia), a B.A. in English Language Teaching and English Literatures (State University of Londrina, Brazil) and is a former Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) scholarship recipient.

Languages

Native Portuguese

Fluent English

I can communicate and write fluently in English. I hold the TOEFL certificate (score: 112/120) and the Cambridge Advanced English certificate.

Intermediate German

I can communicate in German. I hold a certificate of course completion from the Wizard language school, Londrina, Brazil. 

Conversational Spanish

I can communicate in Spanish in informal situations. I have learned this language informally and traveled to different locations where it is spoken as a first language.

Basic French

I have taken a short-term French course at the State University of Londrina that has allowed me to understand and express basic structures in the French language.

Writing skills

I have written, and published, academic articles on foreign language teaching, and video games and learning, both with peers and individually.

Proofreading and Copy Editing

I have provided proofreading and copy editing services for both Brazilian Portuguese and English academic publications.

Translation

I have translated several materials from Portuguese to English, including academic pieces and workbooks. 

Instructional Technology and Design

Technology Integration in Language Education

Throughout the last years I have developed projects using video games in language education. I have coordinated projects at the University of Georgia and the State University of Londrina, Brazil.

Adobe Photoshop

I have worked informally as a graphic designer for the Portuguese language department at the University of Georgia, designing posters and flyers for events. I have also designed a book cover for a Brazilian academic publication.

Digital Illustration/Coloring

In 2016, I completed a six-month course on Digital Painting offered the Brazilian school Melies, in São Paulo, Brazil. I have been using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Manga Studio for digital illustrations, colored and black and white. I have also published art on the Portuguese program magazine at the University of Georgia.

Basic HTML skills

I have developed basic HTML skills as a result of my experience working with Dr. Gregory Clinton as part of my IDD Assistantship in 2016-2017.

Articulate Storyline 2

I have used Articulate Storyline 2 to create interactive presentations both within LDT coursework in 2016-2017 and as part of my assistantship at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2017-2018. The work done with CVIOG has been  recognized for its adequacy to accessibility standards.

Adobe Audition

In my work at the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, I have worked intensively with audio editing using Adobe Audition.

 

Microsoft Office

Both in personal and professional experiences, I have used Microsoft Office tools such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel to accomplish various tasks. 

GoAnimate

I have used the GoAnimate platform to create animations that illustrate Internal Control cases as part of my work at the Carl vinson Institute of Government. 

Game Design

I have used game development software, such as RPG Maker and TyranoBuilder visual studio, to develop interactive narratives.
